The Position 

The Australian National University (ANU) is committed to increasing the representation, participation and success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our workforce.

We are seeking a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Senior Consultant (Indigenous Talent Lead) to play a key role in strengthening Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment outcomes across the University. This role will focus on;

  • Strengthening Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment pathways, including early career programs and targeted recruitment initiatives
  • Partner with Recruitment teams and hiring managers to improve attraction, selection and hiring outcomes
  • Provide practical, culturally informed advice on recruitment, onboarding and ongoing support
  • Contribute to retention strategies through onboarding programs, mentoring and staff engagement activities
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external communities and organisations
  • Use workforce data and insights to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement

The Person

We’re looking for a motivated and culturally aware professional to strengthen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment outcomes across the University.  In order to support the role responsibilities, the person we are looking for will have;

  • Experience in recruitment, workforce programs, human resources, or diversity and inclusion
  • Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment issues, pathways and opportunities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship-building and communication skills
  • Proven ability to deliver practical initiatives and work collaboratively across teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety, inclusion and reconciliation
