Our ideal candidates
We’re looking for high-performing people with skills and experience relevant to the department’s enabling services operations. You will be highly organised and able to work with limited direction.
Our ideal APS Level 4 candidates will:
- be confident providing sound advice and information on corporate programs, activities, and services
- prioritise and manage tasks, monitoring workflow, and communicating issues that may impact on the work area
- demonstrate functional expertise in the area of capability and a good understanding of applicable legislation and policy frameworks relevant to the role
- communicate ideas and identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes.
- participate in strategic planning and decision making within the work area
- work under general direction and exercise judgement with respect to how procedures and guidelines are interpreted and applied
- be a confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
- demonstrate an ability to actively build and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Our ideal APS Level 5 candidates will:
- demonstrate an ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations
- have a well-developed understanding of applicable legislation and policy frameworks relevant to the role, and an ability to provide advice and make decisions based on sound subject matter knowledge
- have a demonstrated ability to work under limited guidance, identify problems or issues and resolve them or raise with management
- be capable of exercising judgement, making independent decisions and being accountable for outcomes
- be willing to guide and support less experienced staff to achieve goals by providing guidance and quality assurance
- be a confident communicator with well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to target communications to diverse audiences.
