Salary: $110,646.43 to $115,575.72 per annum
Disability Justice Liaison Officer - Full Time Position
This is an exciting opportunity to work for a community legal centre that has a strong history of promoting inclusion and diversity. In 2019, CCL received the Chief Minister’s inclusion Award for championing social inclusion in the delivery of accessible and responsive legal services. CCL operates within an integrated practice framework and runs several specialist programs including Disability Law, the Socio-Legal Practice Clinic and Dhurrawang Aboriginal Human Rights Program.
This role has three core components:
- Contributing to and participating in a community of practice in the ACT that identifies and addresses systemic barriers that impact access to justice for people with disability.
- Working within CCL to enhance access to CCL’s services for people with disability; and
- Working closely with CCL’s lawyers to undertake joint client work through an integrated practice model to support people with disability to navigate legal systems including providing appropriate referrals and reasonable adjustments.
People with lived experience of disability including being a person with disability, a supporter of people with disability or people having significant experience in understanding the challenges and strengths of people with disability are encouraged to apply. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are also encouraged to apply.
Tertiary qualifications in social work, occupational therapy, disability, community services or related discipline required. The successful applicant will also need to hold or be eligible to obtain a working with working with vulnerable people card.
