Join AHL and make a real difference

At AHL, we’re all about connection, care and opportunity. The work is real and so is the impact!

We provide culturally safe, affordable accommodation for First Nations people travelling away from home and for over 50 years, we have been helping change lives across Australia.

You’re not just working; you are creating a place where people can feel safe and at home.

With 42 hostels across all states and territories (exc. ACT and TAS), we offer a national footprint. This provides flexibility for employees who may wish to relocate, with opportunities to continue their employment within our network where suitable roles are available.

Our hostels support First Nations people for all kinds of reasons; accommodation, healthcare and education.

You might be welcoming someone after a long day, supporting a young person settling in, or keeping things running so everything feels safe, clean and comfortable. It’s practical, people-focused work where the small things matter!

We are now looking for passionate and enthusiastic people to join us.

What’s in it for me?

  1. Meaningful work that makes a difference every day
  2. Supportive, team-focused environment
  3. Opportunities across Australia
  4. Career growth and professional development

We are hiring!

Multiple positions available (full-time, part-time, casual):

  1. Assistant Hostel Managers (APS4) - keep hostel operations running smoothly
  2. Roving Assistant Hostel Managers (APS4) - same duties but include travelling between hostels
  3. Hostel Manager (APS5) - lead teams and make local impact
  4. Roving Hostel Manager (APS5) - same duties but include travel between hostels

AHL is conducting a national bulk recruitment process to fill positions for teams across the Operations branch in an ongoing and non-ongoing capacity.

This process will be used to establish a merit pool to fill current and future vacancies. The merit pools established from this process will be valid for 18 months.

We’re looking for

People who are:

  1. Passionate about supporting First Nations communities
  2. Great communicator and problem solver
  3. Organised, reliable and a team player
  4. Committed to safety and cultural respect

If you want a role where you can see the difference you make every day, this is it and we want to hear from you!
