About the opportunity

The Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) is Australia's anti-money laundering regulator and specialist financial intelligence unit. In our regulatory role AUSTRAC oversees compliance with the requirements of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act).

We are seeking high-performing professionals to join our growing teams across the APS4 - EL1 classifications.

AUSTRAC is looking to fill roles across the Information, Governance and Knowledge function to ensure that the information we hold is trusted, protected, easy to find and used in the right way. In these roles, you'll play an important part in supporting intelligence, regulatory and corporate work across the organisation.

 

You will contribute to how information, records, knowledge and collaboration tools are managed, improved and used across AUSTRAC. Your work may focus on policy and advice, operations, digital platforms or service management, and may include specialist or leadership responsibilities depending on the role and level.

 

Roles in this job function support the effective management of information, records and knowledge products, including governance frameworks, enterprise platforms and policy guidance.

Key Duties

The Information Governance and Knowledge Professional is responsible for:

Information and Records Management

  1. Support classification, storage, retention and disposal of information assets.
  2. Manage records, information and knowledge assets across digital platforms.

Information Governance and Access

  1. Support or manage information governance frameworks, policies and compliance obligations.
  2. Support or manage change, governance and assurance activities, including reporting and compliance monitoring.

Advice and Support

  1. Provide practical advice on how to manage information, records and knowledge safely and effectively.
  2. Develop and deliver training information.

Quality Assurance

  1. Analyse data, feedback and performance measures to identify opportunities for improvement.
  2. Contribute to audits, reviews and assurance activities relating to information management.

Continuous Improvement

  1. Support or improve enterprise systems and platforms used to manage information and collaboration.
  2. Work with business areas, technology teams and external partners to deliver improvements, meet compliance and security requirements, and manage risks.

Lead and Influence

  1. For senior roles, lead teams, manage priorities and help build Information Knowledge Management capabilities across AUSTRAC.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role you:

  1. Must be an Australian citizen at the time you apply.
  2. Will need to undertake AUSTRAC’s pre-engagement checks.
  3. Will need to obtain and maintain an ongoing Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance
