About the opportunity

The Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) is Australia's anti-money laundering regulator and specialist financial intelligence unit. In our regulatory role AUSTRAC oversees compliance with the requirements of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act).

 

We are seeking high-performing professionals to join our growing teams across APS5 to EL2 classifications, with a strong focus on APS6 and EL1 roles.

These positions sit within a fast-paced, high-impact regulatory environment aligned to Australia’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing framework, including engagement with stakeholders across government and industry.

Experience or exposure to AML/CTF environments is highly desirable.

What are we looking for

  1. Relevant Experience – Management experience or a background in AML/CTF is highly desirable.
  2. Communication & Writing Skills – Being able to demonstrate strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information, prepare briefs and talking points, and tailor messaging effectively for diverse stakeholders.
  3. Coordination & Judgement – Being able to demonstrate strong coordination skills, effectively managing competing priorities, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring tasks and deliverables are executed efficiently within dynamic environments.
  4. Digital & Communication Channels - Experience using digital platforms, content management systems or communication tools to support engagement activities.

Key Duties

 

The Stakeholder Management and Partnerships Professional is responsible for:

 

Communication and Engagement Delivery

  1. Develop and deliver internal and external communication products and engagement activities aligned to AUSTRAC priorities.
  2. Support communication strategies and engagements that promote understanding of AUSTRAC’s role, activities and regulatory expectations.

Stakeholder Engagement

  1. Support engagement with industry, government and other stakeholders through events, briefings, written communications and digital channels.
  2. Contribute to consistent, coordinated messaging across stakeholder groups.

Advice and Coordination

  1. Provide communication and engagement advice to internal stakeholders within established frameworks.
  2. Coordinate communication activities across teams to ensure accuracy, consistency and timeliness.

Continuous Improvement

  1. Contribute to evaluation and improvement of communication and engagement approaches, channels and products.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role you:

  1. Must be an Australian citizen at the time you apply.
  2. Will need to undertake AUSTRAC’s pre-engagement checks.
  3. Will need to obtain and maintain an ongoing Baseline Security Clearance
