AUSTRAC, Australia’s financial intelligence agency and anti-money laundering and terrorism financing regulator, is undergoing major transformation to strengthen its role in fighting financial crime. As we evolve and embrace these changes, we are now recruiting several roles across Digital Delivery and Product functions.

These role offers a unique opportunity to shape and deliver high impact digital platforms and products; and translate complex business needs into clear priorities and practical solutions, from discovery through to delivery. You'll play a key role in the design and delivery of digital and technology initiatives from major transformation programs and projects that improve financial intelligence outcomes and uplifting data capabilities for AUSTRAC.

EL1, and APS6 Product Owner / Manager

Key duties include:

  • Set priorities and roadmaps, manage backlogs, balance value and resources, and partner with delivery teams and various stakeholders to achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Own and improve an internal analyst tooling environment (including workbench, Nebula and Palantir), including integrations, performance, governance and continuous uplift to improve productivity and user experience.
  • Support and develop suite of tools used by AUSTRAC analysts at both platform and products level.
  • Contribute in program increment planning, and execution, and reviews to facilitate development and ensure alignment with agile principles. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a product roadmap that outlines the product vision, key milestones, and release plans. 
  • Ensure products meet business needs as well as acceptance criteria and quality standards, collaborating with user groups, development and testing teams. 
  • Identifies and manages product risks and dependencies 

 

APS6 Senior Analyst, Data Insights and Visualisation 

Key duties include:

  • Design, develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports.
  • Drive meaningful, actionable analysis, visualisation and interpretation of data insights and trends.
  • Use data storytelling principles and techniques to effectively, efficiently and impactfully communicate data insights to executive and general audiences.
  • Contributing to project, team and branch reporting as required, including developing strategic plans and roadmaps for the delivery of business intelligence solutions where required.
  • Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data analysis and business intelligence, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled innovations.
  • Develop and present data-driven recommendations aligned with strategic goals.

This recruitment process will initially be used to fill a current vacancy and in future, may be used to fill similar positions in the event positions become vacant. The merit pools established from this recruitment process will be valid for 18 months from the date of advertising.
