  • Lead and deliver the Reconciliation Action Plan and First Nations employment strategy
  • Support leaders and teams to create culturally safe workplaces and employee experiences
  • Full time or Part time ongoing role (30-38 hours per week neg)
  • $55.72 per hour (SCHADS Level 6) based in any of our Wellways locations

 

Wellways is seeking a First Nations Workforce Lead to deliver reconciliation and cultural safety initiatives across Wellways. You will lead exciting initiatives like Wellways Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), First Nations Caucus, Reconciliation Working Group and the annual First Nations Summit.

 

About the role

This key role supports leaders and teams to create culturally safe workplaces and enhances First Nations employee experience through recruitment, development, training and engagement initiatives.

You will create and build strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and communities to support meaningful participation, co-production and partnerships.

 

Role responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the RAP and First Nations employment strategy
  • Support leaders and teams to create culturally safe work environments and enhance employee experience
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with First Nations communities, organisations and stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver cultural supervision, training programs and initiatives across the employee lifecycle
  • Provide reporting, briefings and strategic guidance to leadership and governing bodies

 

What you will bring to the role:

  • Strong understanding of First Nations cultural safety and reconciliation practices
  • Proven experience in workforce strategy, leadership and stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and operational delivery skills
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of reconciliation action

Pre-employment requirements:

  • Identify as First Nations and be accepted by their community, and be able to provide documentation confirming Aboriginality or Torres Strait Islander heritage, if required
  • Relevant experience or qualifications in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Current valid Driver’s License and the ability to undertake some travel
  • Satisfactory Police Records Check
  • Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Modules – free online course
  • Right to Work within Australia
