The opportunity 

We’re looking for a skilled Apple Endpoint Platform Engineer to join our Information Management & Technology (IMT) team.

In this role, you’ll apply your expertise in Apple technologies to design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable endpoint services that meet both organisational and government requirements. You’ll work in a collaborative agile environment, solving technical challenges, improving service delivery, and supporting users across CSIRO.

Your high-level duties will include: 

  • Design, implement and administer macOS/iOS infrastructure using Jamf Pro and Microsoft Intune to create and configure policies for application and patch deployment, configuration profiles and self-service portals.
  • Configure and manage Apple Automated Device Enrolment, MDM and Volume Purchase Program via Apple Business Manager.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve service interruptions, perform root cause analysis, and drive platform improvements.
  • Provide technical solutions and coordination for exceptions and issues as they arise.
  • Liaise with clients to determine their needs, take personal responsibility for their satisfaction, and correct issues promptly.

Location: Any AU CSIRO site considered – Flexible/hybrid work arrangements available

Salary: AU$103k – AU$113k per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 15.4% superannuation

As the successful candidate, you will bring: 

  • Extensive knowledge of macOS/iOS Operating systems with the ability to perform troubleshooting of complex technical problems and deliver service improvement projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of Jamf Pro MDM and DEP/ADE, VPP for application and device configuration.
  • Familiarity with Apple device support and other related services using Apple Business Manager
  • Experienced in scripting languages, including Bash and Python.
  • Good understanding of Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Kerberos, Storage, Networking and Certificate Authority.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with proven ability to communicate with staff and clients at all levels, including ability to write and maintain documentation for multiple audiences, including end-user guides and technical documentation.

    Desirable
  • Relevant industry certifications or training such as Jamf 200 certification
  • Strong understanding of Windows OS and configuration (smb, printing, web services)
