About the opportunity
As a Finance Business Partner in the Finance, Property and Procurement Branch, you will combine your passion for finance with your stakeholder engagement skills. You'll step into a high-impact role, influencing operational efficiency, shaping strategy and delivering financial insights that drive organisational change. You'll help steer financial strategy through an exciting time of growth and maturity, driven by the implementation of critical AML/CTF legislatives reforms.
The role will be 12 month non-ongoing initially with a prospect to become ongoing.
The key duties of the position include:
- Partner with business areas to support effective financial management and decision-making.
- Produce quality reporting on the financial performance of the business areas and business programs.
- Analyse business data to generate insights that drive resource allocation and financial performance improvement.
- Ensure financial data integrity by assessing business impacts and resolving inaccuracies.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand and support their priorities.
- Lead, manage and develop team members to deliver on business outcomes.

Who are we looking for
We are seeking motivated accounting and finance professionals with a strong background in Finance Business Partnering to join the team at AUSTRAC.
Required
- Demonstrated experience in financial analysis expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in management accounting and financial planning.
- Proficiency in developing cost baselines and forecasting models.
- Applied knowledge and experience in funding processes within established frameworks and legislative requirements.
Desirable
- Proficiency in financial systems and data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, TechOne, Sap Finance and/or similar system).
- Relevant tertiary education or professional certification (e.g. Bachelor of Accounting and Finance)
To be eligible for this role you:
- Must be an Australian citizen at the time you apply.
- Will need to undertake AUSTRAC’s pre-engagement checks.
- Will need to obtain and maintain an ongoing Baseline security clearance.
