The Senior Director, First Nations Family Connection and Engagement is responsible for the strategic direction and operational oversight of the following teams;
- Family Response and Engagement
- Family Finding and Family Group Conferencing Team
- Family Connection and Restoration Team
The Senior Director, First Nations Family Connection and Engagement role is responsible for setting the strategic vision and workplan for culturally safe practice and continuous development within CYF; and the position will play a significant role in working with the CYF Executive on the development of culturally intelligent responses and service delivery to meet all 36 key recommendations within the Our Boori’s Our Way Review. In achieving this, the role will require analysis of current CYF policies and practice to ensure cultural safety; and work closely with the Executive on the implementation.
The role will also provide leadership and contribute to the recruitment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff of all levels within CYF.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- CYPP 6 must have at least five (5) years of practical demonstrated experience leading teams and delivery of services to support positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families is essential.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Science or related discipline is essential.
- Please note: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who do not have these qualifications but who have appropriate and relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage and experience are eligible to apply.
- Background / Security clearance checks will be conducted.
- This position requires a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

- Driver’s license (C class) is essential.
