The Specialist, Deployments Support plays a vital role in enabling safe, secure and effective overseas operations and international travel for AUSTRAC staff. As part of the Physical Security & Deployments Team, within the Enterprise Enablement Branch, this role provides key support across international postings, business travel logistics and security risk management.

Key Duties

Under broad direction, the Specialist, Deployments Support will:

  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end support for overseas deployments and travel, including accommodation, removals, ICT, leasing and contract services.
  • Deliver services in line with DFAT’s Overseas Deployment Framework and AUSTRAC's service-level agreements.
  • Monitor global security and hazard risks affecting business travel and staff, including open-source and classified information feeds.
  • Liaise with DFAT, security providers and partner agencies to align policy and procedures for deployment support.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and provide safety briefings to travelling staff.
  • Manage procurement of logistics services in accordance with Commonwealth policy.
  • Monitor and support diplomatic messaging, official passports and secure freight processes.
  • Prepare costings and provide financial oversight of deployment-related expenditure.

This role may involve interstate travel and occasional work outside standard hours to support urgent operational requirements. On-call arrangements and restriction allowances may apply.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role you:

  • Must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
  • Will need to undergo AUSTRAC’s pre-engagement checks.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance.
