Within AUSTRAC's Transformation division, the EL1 Senior Specialist, Business Analyst supports multiple digital products and projects across the agency. This role delivers deep business analysis expertise to drive the delivery of high-impact, user-focused solutions. Working in an agile environment, the role focuses on end-to-end process mapping, defining business requirements, identifying pain points, and ensuring solutions to deliver strong user experiences. It plays a strategic role in aligning digital solutions with business objectives and future agency needs.

 

Key Duties

The EL1 Senior Specialist, Business Analyst is responsible for:

  • Translating complex technical information into clear business requirements.
  • Mapping current and future business processes to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to align priorities and define impactful solutions.
  • Supporting the delivery of ICT solutions that meet strategic goals.
  • Analysing stakeholder feedback and integrating it into solution design.
  • Advising senior leadership on risks, opportunities and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Leading agile practices including backlog development, stakeholder engagement and refinement of user stories.
  • Ensuring compliance with Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) standards.
  • Providing specialist advice across business systems, including education, enhancements, and quality assurance.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role you:

  • Must be an Australian Citizen at the time you apply.
  • Wil need to undertake AUSTRAC's pre-engagement checks
  • Will need to obtain and maintain an ongoing Baseline Clearance
