The Indigenous Graduate Pathway (IGP) provides a rewarding career in the Australian Public Service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tertiary graduates.
IGP provides entry into multiple Australian Government agencies who are seeking a diverse range of skills and abilities.

Program Overview
Graduates in the Australian Government get hands-on experience along with formal development opportunities tailored to build their skills. This gives graduates a professional advantage in the increasingly competitive workforce, wherever their career may take them.
Typically, graduates undertake a structured program within a government agency which comprises of:
- work rotations designed to expose graduates to business areas across the agency
- opportunities to undertake a diverse range of real work
- on the job training to help graduates establish their professional grounding
- opportunities to build professional networks.
- The program duration is 12-24 months, with location and salary depending on the hiring agency.
Eligibility
To be eligible for IGP, candidates need to meet the following conditions:
- be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
- be an Australian citizen
- have completed or be finishing an undergraduate degree or higher by 31 December 2025
- be able to obtain and maintain a valid Australian Government security clearance when required
