 The position of Senior Project Officer, Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property is to support the implementation of the Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property (ICIP) protocols for the National Assessment Program (NAP). This role involves identifying opportunities to elevate the representation of the knowledges and experiences of First Nations Australians in the NAP test materials, establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, obtaining appropriate permissions from cultural knowledge holders, and maintaining project documentation and records to ensure ongoing compliance with ACARA's ICIP protocols.    

 

Who is eligible?

About the position:

  • provide high-level support to the Senior Manager, Assessment, to embed ACARA’s NAP ICIP protocols into the NAP item and test development processes
  • lead the process of obtaining relevant ICIP permissions including identifying cultural knowledge holders and building and maintaining relationships with First Nations organisations and other stakeholders 
  • lead and coordinate the development of NAP materials that elevate the knowledges and experiences of First Nations Australians, working alongside community and individual knowledge holders, ACARA staff and other stakeholder
  • coordinate and participate in the cultural review of testing materials for the NAP ensuring cultural safety and diversity of representation.   

 

To be successful, you will have:

  • confirmation you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person 
  • education qualifications and experience commensurate with the nature of the role
  • extensive knowledge and understanding of the teaching, learning and assessment of the Australian Curriculum. 
  • strong communication skills and digital capabilities, demonstrated through experience managing projects and maintaining positive stakeholder relations. 

 

It is also desirable you have:

  • a working understanding of ICIP
  • an understanding of the nature of online standardised assessment.

ACARA offers an attractive salary package dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate, commencing at $119,425 base per annum, pro-rata part-time (plus superannuation).  

This is a 2 year fixed-term contract with an FTE 0.5 (2 and a half working days per week).
