CSIRO's Information Management and Technology (IMT) Business Unit maintains an extensive array of services and a diverse range of technology platforms for CSIRO’s Business Units. Underpinning all the services IMT provide is a bold ambition for CSIRO staff to have seamless, secure access to tools, systems and processes that back the delivery of world class science.

Key to the success of the IMT strategy, the Architecture & Design team provide advice through consultancy with other business units as well as undertake thorough option analysis for initiatives across the organisation. The team develop architecture designs, build future roadmaps and facilitate architecture governance.

The Enterprise Architect – IT role will undertake and facilitate IT architecture design work across IMT’s technology portfolio and contribute to aligning with and defining the broader IMT roadmap. This role aims to be a key role in assisting the IMT Architecture & Design Manager in leading the development of future focussed blueprints and roadmaps for the primary technologies that underpin the systems that IMT provides the organisation.  

The Enterprise Architect - IT is responsible for providing System Architecture services to the CSIRO IMT business unit and collaborating the development and maintenance of technical designs. 

Your duties will include:

• Develop strategic IT roadmaps.
• Define IT enterprise architecture standards and complete designs.
• Facilitate and coordinate the development of system level designs that are occurring across IMT. 
• Liaise with all CSIRO IMT teams to ensure that the integrated nature of IMT systems is represented and considered in systems and technology design. 
• Ensure interoperability between designs which will in turn assure that roadmaps for IMT’s systems are well understood.
• Work with capability and technology leads to develop sub-system level designs and to develop technology plans.

Salary: AU$126k - AU$148k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

Essential

1. Demonstrated experience in the design of solutions on large enterprise scale platforms and systems. The ability to blend and translate business needs and outcomes to align to system elements thus assuring the people, organisations, information, cyber and application needs are accommodated and directly related to business needs.
2. Demonstrated ability to understand and partake in the advancement of:
   1. Alignment of business outcomes to Operations, Information and Technology designs
   2. Development of information and technology designs aligned to an organisation’s enterprise architecture.
3. Demonstrated experience in directly leading the development of and authoring complex IT future roadmaps and blueprints.
4. Demonstrated experience in development of System and Solution Design documentation, including producing pictorial visual representations of IT systems and providing traceability to underpinning requirements.
5. Demonstrated experience socialising and communicating complex IT Architecture constructs effectively to non-technical executives and senior leaders.
6. Proven experience working for an Australian Government agency or research sector to deliver enterprise scale technology or infrastructure projects.
