CSIRO’s Mineral Resources unit are one of the largest minerals research and development groups in the world, with a proud track record in delivering innovation and solutions across the mineral resources value chain. Our Sensing and Sorting Program is a pioneer at developing advanced X-ray, radio frequency and other sensing methods for real time analysis of elements and minerals.
As an X-Ray Systems Project Scientist, you will join our specialised and multi-disciplinary ‘X-Ray Technologies’ research group that develops and advances X-ray analysis systems through basic research, laboratory experiments and development of prototypes. You will play an essential role in supporting our senior scientists and research teams in the development and testing of our new Mineral and Elemental Analyzer (MEA) technology, by conducting laboratory trials, measuring sample sets from a processing plant, performing data analysis, and collaborating with scientists to accurately record, report and communicate results. Bringing your knowledge of physics concepts, your background in designing and conducting experiments, and your passion to grow your skills & experience in the field, you will help enhance CSIRO’s capabilities in XRD-based technologies and development of new innovations in future.
