About the role:

The position is responsible for the creation of 3D design models and 2D drawings, in accordance with procedures and standards, to allow purchasing, manufacturing and assembly of such components.

 

Specifically, you will:

  • Plan and prepare high quality CAD models and drawings from supplied information using both Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Analyse design problems and efficiently develop solutions that are fit for purpose.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and stakeholders to assist in ensuring all design and drawing requirements are addressed.
  • Understand manufacturing processes and look for opportunities to simplify design for efficient fabrication.
  • Work in SAP with material numbers, document revisions, and timesheets.
  • Manage your daily work in compliance with policies and procedures

 

 

To be successful in the above duties, You will have:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficiency using Inventor, Vault, and AutoCAD is essential.
  • Minimum 5+ years experience with steel fabrication and heavy industry equipment design, modelling, and drafting. Experience in a workshop environment advantageous.
  • High attention to detail and methodical approach to design and drawing.
  • Ability to work in a team, autonomously, and unsupervised.
  • Ability to work in a structured and organised manner and remain agile to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet task time limits and deadlines.
  • Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions is a leading supplier of equipment, tools, parts, service and solutions for processing rock and minerals in the mining and infrastructure industries. Applications include crushing, screening, breaking and demolition.
