The Project Support Officer will be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the Catalysing Australia’s Biosecurity (CAB) Initiative which is a joint biosecurity research, development and innovation work program between CSIRO and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).

Under the guidance of the DAFF-CSIRO Co-design team and the CAB secretariat, the Project Support Officer will work across both CSIRO and DAFF and will have opportunity to contribute across a broad range of activities including supporting project-level strategy, planning, reporting and co-ordination.

The Project Support Officer will primarily be responsible for manage the administrative aspects of projects including document management, minute taking, and organisation of meetings arranging meetings, co-ordinating and participating in workshops, webinars, and industry events, bridging communications between the two organisations and providing timely support impacting decision-making and delivery. You will also provide coordination and administrative support to the three (3) CAB working groups and support future working groups of the project.

 

Your duties will include:

  • Work, under limited supervision, collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary, regionally dispersed team across DAFF and CSIRO (including working from the respective officers of both agencies, when required) to carry out tasks in support of the objectives of the CSIRO Missions Program, and CAB’s outcomes.

  • Providing efficient and effective diary management, including arranging meetings for internal working groups.

  • Preparing agendas and minutes/actions of regular internal working group meetings and associated workshops tracking progress of these actions.

  • Organising workshops as required for the working groups virtual and/or face to face, engaging and liaising between working group leads and external facilitators, ensuring that the actions and outcomes from these workshops are recorded.

 

Location: Canberra, ACT preferred, Australia-wide may be considered

Salary: AU$68,148 - AU$86,733 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • Experience in project and/or administration support.

  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders, building collaborate stakeholder relationships and managing on-going relationships with these stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated organisational skills and experience in managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines, as well as the ability to demonstrate self-motivation, adaptability and flexibility to delivery of tasks and activities

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks

  • Demonstrated problem solving and judgement skills, including ability to anticipate, identify and manage risks.
