Many of CSIRO's innovations were once considered impossible. Fast WiFi, Aerogard insect repellent and the plastic Australian banknote, to name a few. Until someone, just like you, joined us and took on the challenge. We’re recruiting inventors, innovators and change makers. Join Team CSIRO and help make the impossible possible.
CSIRO’s Environment Business Unit brings together capabilities in marine, atmospheric, water and terrestrial environment disciplines, as well as significant social and economic research, to align and support the nation in creating a better and more sustainable future.
The Marine Systems and Informatics Research Group unites a diverse range of software engineers and scientists who work collaboratively on scientific modelling platforms, backed by high-performance compute visualisations, to support the analysis of very large research datasets. This team also works on developing interactive decision support tools, designed to support environmental management decisions.
As a Software Engineer this is an exciting opportunity for you to join a high-performance and collaborative team and contribute to the design, development and delivery of decision support system that makes CSIRO’s model predictions and sensor data available to the world. You will be expected to collaborate with other software engineers and with researchers from many other fields, to engage with end-users and other project stakeholders, and to support the integrations, deployment, and maintenance of new and legacy software applications.
